What is the Janko keyboard all about?
I explain the core idea in an interview with Produce Like A Pro at the Superbooth 2026 in Berlin.
With our RR Janko DIY kit, you can easily convert any regular keyboard into an isomorphic Janko keyboard. All you need is double-sided tape.
The Janko piano design was invented by Paul von Jankó in the late
19th century.
It has the very convenient property that it is isomorphic.
Thus, scale fingerings and chord shapes are the same in all keys.
You couldn't really buy Janko pianos anywhere, which led me to developing, building, and experimenting with Janko pianos myself.
My wish is that everyone interested in this piano layout has the possibility to get one and learn how to play it.
